| | | | PRM services at Copenhagen Airport
Since 26 July 2008, Copenhagen Airport has contracted Falck Danmark A/S as the service provider for persons with reduced mobility (PRM). Falck has about 17000 employees worldwide and is a well-known rescue and safety organisation dedicated to ambulance, healthcare and fire-fighting services all supported by a variety of training programmes. Falck’s experience with patient mobility and safety services strongly supports the ability to deliver a first class service to PRM passengers.
Falck has set up an organisation with a staff of approximately 80 and has acquired the agreed mobility assistance equipment.
Furthermore, Falck has established a call/dispatch centre based on high level IT solutions providing integration with airline systems, which ensures advance notification of incoming PRM passengers, such as their needs of assistance, arrival time and gate number. Each Falck employee carries a PDA, where assigned tasks are notified and confirmed. Passengers bound for departure can notify Falck in advance through the Internet, by email, by phone or via one of 9 call points in the airport area.
A Falck employee is properly trained, appears in a recognisable uniform and acts in a professional and empathetic manner. Moreover, Falck has provided a well-equipped resting facility for the staff.
Copenhagen airport has provided a dedicated lounge facility for PRM passengers situated next to the call/dispatch centre. Mobility assistance through the airport Falck can (besides the PRM concept) provide various services within an airport environment such as: · Health care clinics (staff and passengers) · Emergency response to critical illness/accidents on the airport facilities (paramedics and ambulances) · Firefighting operation (assets, staff and management) - egg.Ciudad Real airport south of Madrid. · Meet, greet, guide services for VIP's or children travelling alone · Delivery of emergency equipment, maintaining it and training in its use (AED's, fire extinguisher etc.) · Crisis management and disaster response teams · Training programmes within emergency (firefighting, first aid etc.)
